MICROSECTIONS in PCB Mmanufacturing
A microsection is a cross-sectional slice of the PCB, typically taken through specific features like vias (plated through holes), traces, or layers.
Microsections help our engineers to inspect internal structures and verify:
- Plating thickness of copper in vias and traces
- Quality of lamination and layer bonding
- Presence of defects such as cracks, delamination, or voids
- Drill quality (e.g., smear, roughness)
- Alignment of inner layers
Following some examples.
